Angry

Hi folks,

I've just recently became the proud owner of an RB5 It's my first Scoobie and boy am I impressed.

I have one big gripe though. When the passenger doors closes the windows catches on those little black clips on the door frame. It only ever happens when the door is closed from the inside and it was only happening on the passenger door until just the other day when it happened to the drivers door.

The dealer adjusted the windows during the 1000 mile service. It doesn't happen very often, but it does happen

Has anyone experienced this sort of thing before ?

Cheers,

Stefan

Another Stef eh?? Welcome to Scooby world!
I suffered the same thing on mine and I simply pushed the black things up a bit.
Sounds obvious but it worked, as it hasn't done it since!
Cheers,

Stef.

Question

I thought about that myself, but just the other night I was out for a good blast. I'll not disclose the speed, but there was a sudden sound of gushing air coming from the passenger window. It sounded like the windows had popped out slightly with the air pressure.

Are the black clips designed to keep the window in check or are the just for looks

Stefan.

Don't know! I don't think they're there to keep the windows from popping out though!!
I'm afraid that's one of the 'negs' of driving at warp speeds .

IMHO the clips are to keep the window glass in position if you decide to wind up the window at high speed (& wind pressure).

Cool

Think Nick is right.

Loads of Jap cars have them. Had a Honda once and the windows wouldn't close over 60mph without them.

Something to do with low pressure areas along the sides which try to suck the windows outwards.
