Is this a record... 1½ hours to fit an air filter? I'm in no way a mechanic, but I assumed that I'd at least be competent to fit one! Nah! After some mighty swearing, cut hands & a growing inferiority complex, I eventually got it in & seated correctly. Maybe the 99my is different, or maybe having aircon gets more stuff in the way, but the standard handbook details just do not work - unless of course you just want to stuff it in the general direction of the air box.. It's just a good job that I left it 2 days to post this message....

It took me a little longer 'cos I broke the little pipe off that goes into the air chamber (didn't see it, just heard the snap). It's all back together now though (with a little bit of modification in the model shop) but it was a bugger of a job. I'm just glad that they are maintenance free!
