Need some help, I've a 96P UK car with AirCon. A stone has gone through the condensor unit and it dumped all its fluid

I've been told its not repairable and its going to cost 550ukp to fix which if it comes down to it I'll pay but I'm hoping to find a cheaper solution, does anyone know where I might find a better deal, recontioned unit etc.

Its a long shot, but try some of the breakers that have been mentioned previously, you could probably get one from there, then its just a matter of getting it re-pressurised.

I'd suggest keeping an eye out in the back-pages of Motoring News.There's often s/h air-con units for sale that have been taken out of WRX's that have been stripped out for rallying. Or just contact one of the independent Subaru rally-prep. places directly, they may well have units floating around. They tend to go for around £300 or less.
