I don't know how much you were proposing on spending on a replacement box, but I know where you can get hold of a Prodrive SII gearbox for £1300+Vat. That should stand up quite comfortably to 300BHP. If you're interested I'll give you further details.

You may want to try Scubidu in Carlisle who break Impreza's - alternatively another company advertises in Motoring News about breaking Subaru's
It is unlikely that a geabox is broken in a write off. You probably can find a WRX/STi box in one of those places.
