I have a MY93WRX and my cat light never lights up, is this correct?

The car does have a (JASMA) after market exhaust fitted with the cat's still in place (currently). Does anybody know anything about them.

Mike

This light shows that the cat is over heating and the sensor will cause the ECU to shut everything down, so protecting the cat, if necessary. The light would only come on if this were happening.

Thanks Pete, this was a run on from somebody elses post where somebody had said that the light should illuminate at the ignition key setting prior to start-up, I didn't want to hijack it so raised my own question.

After further close inspection of my exhaust it has the name Fujitsubo GK on it?

It also appears to have a serial numbered stainless steel plate on the back box. The sort that you get with limited edition stuff.

????
Mike.

Hi Mike, My My 96 5 door Sti has an FGK Legalis Ti hybrid exhaust. The F in FGK stands for Fujitsubo. Their web site is at www1.mediagalaxy.co.jp/fujitsubo. It to has a serial number and the original makers foil label still attached. mine is 3 inch from the bottom of the down pipe back and is connected together using flanges. very well made and stainless I think. Really sounds good. Don't know what it's done for power but I'll find out.

Bob

Yes, that looks like the stuff.

JASMA = Japan Automotive Sports Muffler Association.
If you look under Muffler line up, that is the same foil label/plate as fitted to my exhaust, if only the web site was in English.

So how do I work out which one I have got?
