I noticed that the clutch pedal on my Impreza 97my is very heavy, and that the pedal rubber itself is very worn. My car has 42k on it, and has given no bother otherwise. Is this normal, or am I in trouble? There is no clutch slip at all, save the usual judder when cold. And no, I dont ride the clutch.....

I have recently had my Clutch replaced under warranty on my MY98. Problem with Clutch Judder (see the Clutch Judder chain) due to a pressure plate fault. Since having this done, the difference in the weight of the clutch is very noticeable - lot lighter now.
I don't think you'll get a replacement under warranty (1yr/20,000 miles) though.
