The ABS warning light suddenly came on in the missus '95 Legacy Turbo... However, we were running on empty. Once we'd filled up the light stayed off.
So...Was this just coz the ignition off/on reset it properly?
Or...For some bizarre reason does Subaru use the ABS light to indicate low petrol warning on a '95 Legacy Turbo.
Someone shed any (ABS) light on this matter?
Cheers,
Squizz.

Had almost the same problem on 92 model. abs light came on when i hit reverse.Had to switch off/on to get the light to go out. So your guess is as good as mine. Sorry its no help but atleast your not alone.

Thanks for that. I've seen the CEL light come on when I've been driving the car too, whilst crawling down a hill in traffic in 1st gear off throttle. Cleared itself.
Hmmm. I might just check the fuse and sensor connections to the calipers whilst I'm on holiday this week.
"What's Anti-Lock Braking?" asks the missus!

If you look under the drivers seat near the sill there is a cut square flap in the carpet, lift this and the ABS ecu is visible with a small lamp in it.
If the ABS warning lamp comes on, don't switch off the engine, look at the lamp and count the flashes to get fault code.
When ignition switched off the ABS ecu does a reset which is why dash warning goes off.
Hope this sheds some light on the problem LOL
