bad mpg on SUL
David,
I wouldn't bother with SUL. Jonathan will be posting some results from Saturday's dyno day that show there is no difference on the UK cars between 95 & 98 Ron. It was recommended that for a track day to use 98 Ron by the technicians ( although I didn't ask why) and of course the imports must run on 98.
How about a '99MY with Scoobysport exhaust & Ramair on 95 Ron @ 248bhp?
Best regards
Benny

Benny Boy,
With my MY99 going out our drive on Friday, next stop England, I have been wondering what gas it should use over yr way, especially with what, 10p a litre between 95 and 98? Here it runs on what is sold as 96 octane, but who really knows for sure? So I shall look out for the dyno tests you mention. But seriously, another 30bhp from a free-flow muffler and a different air filter?? And when I think of the thousands I spent trying to coax a few more ponies out of my Alfa race car!!

And to think i had to be cajoled into putting it on the rollers
It also made 16PSI boost at one point although it tailed off to standard shortly after.
The first run produced about 259BHP, 2nd was 255 the third which they printed off produced the 248. I never actually got to compare the torque curves between mine and PC's car, so cant really say if SUL makes much difference. Perhaps Paul could do that comparison when he puts the final figures up on his Dyno page.
I am not complaining though
I was expecting about 230BHP. Cheers to Jonathan for arranging it all.

Frank,
Ian won't have got 30 bhp from the back box and filter. An STi 4 went from 284 to 301 from this conversion (about 1 hour between runs. What is interesting though is that all standard cars are running higher than factory quotes.'97 & ,98 MY appear to be around 220bhp so, with your car supposed to be 215, you can draw your own conclusions
Best regards
