Hi,
I just got my new '99 Scooby and have found a bizarre problem. When the car's been running for about half an hour, I hear a crackling sound. This seems to be comming from the heater / air-con unit. Does anyone know why this happens?
Thanks,
Sonu...

Hi,
Have you checked that the Ashtray is fully pushed in? I have noticed that it has a tendancy to vibrate and cause a nasty noise if you haven't pushed it in hard enough!
Just a thought!

My MY98 always crackles once properly warmed up. Whilst it is more noticeable when the engine's just been turned off, it's still audible when driving at slow speeds or in traffic etc.

Hi all,
on closer inspection, it seems as if the panel holding the heater is loose, because when I hold it down, the noise goes away. I can't understand why it loosens when the car has been driven for half an hour.
Thanks,
Sonu...
