A few months ago a friend of mine gave me some carbon fibre door mirrors, same as those on the rally cars, i have been thinking of putting them on my car but have been told they are illegal because they are too small, does anyone know the law regarding door mirrors. also one of the mirror glasses is slightly cracked does anyone know where i might get one cut.

kenny these are the reasons for rejecting the mirror/s as from the mot testers manual.

an obligatory mirror
A missing or insecure
B so damaged or detoriated that the view to the rear is seriously impaired.
C does not provide a view to the rear of the vehicle.
D not clearly visable from the drivers seat or incapable of being adjusted to be clearly visable from the drivers seat.

a local glass stockist recently cut me a mirror glass off a template for the rear view mirror of a friends speed boat after i put a water ski through the original only
cost a few pound .
peter.
