usnig non immobilizer ECU on car with immobilizer

I own a UK/euro spec MY02 WRX with the AF531 ECU. The car has an immobilizer and was wondering if the car will run with a ECU that has no immobilizer.
I am thinking of buying a used USA spec ECU and having it flashed there in one of the ECUTEK dealers in the states and using it on my car.
I live in the Philippines so it is not so easy to just go into an ECUTEK dealer and have a reflash. It seems the most convenient thing to do is buy a spare ECU and have that flashed
