Question

Anyone using aquamist had any problems with it i.e. the pumps being unreliable? Have heard they can be unreliable true?
Where are the jet/jets tapped into on the early scoob, Presume one in the throttle body housing before inlet manifold would do the job.

Hi,

A few years ago, there were one or two problems with pumps failing, BUT, this was mainly due to poor installation, resulting in water ingress.

However, to prevent problems due to water ingress, even with poor installation, ERL (Aquamist) improved the sealing, demonstrated at AutoSport (IIRC) by running the pump submerged in a tank of water !!!

As for fitting the jet in the TB, personally, I don't like it. This is because the jet will be spraying directly onto the butterfly, and is less efficient at mixing with all the air.

Ideally, it should be fited a few inches befor the TB.

Mark.

Thanks mark sounds like I heard some out of date info, Did wonder about the butterfly bit myself but have not had a proper look yet to see if there was room.

Cheers

I have my Water Injection Jet fitted in the bottom of my TMIC(Throttle Body Side) directly in line with the centre of the throttle butterfly for exactly the reasons R19KET stated As far as reliability is concerned my pump only needed stripping and cleaning as it had been left standing between being removed from my old car and fitting to my current scoob (In the space of 2 years)
