has anbody removed the Sti spoiler from MY01/02/03 and replaced it with something of the S202 type. I am looking to get the S202 spoiler to do exactly this but there appears to be loads of bolts holding the original one on which would leave my boot lid somewhat holy. LOL

Thanks Cord, thats exactly what i was looking floor, have sourced the spoiler (original S202) @ £495 + VAT. The link you sent me is a WRX, which have just four holes mounting the spoiler, unfortunately the STi has around 12 holes, Ideally I need to swap boot lids with a Silver WRX owner who wants an STi type spoiler....

And you could be just what i am looking for (oo err that sounds a bit dodgy) Am thinking of putting one of those spoilers on my classic, I know the holes will be all wrong but if the shape of the bottom of the "feet" is ok it might just work. Can you mail me as per my profile so i can pick your brains?

You should put a call out for a Sport owner or someone with a standard low wing in silver........ the original fixings are just four bolts that's two at each end...... i would imagine someone out there is looking for an upgrade.
I have just had the UK300 wing fitted to mine,
(Under warranty i will add!!)
We looked at the possibility at putting an STI wing on but found that without the boot like yours with all the extra holes this was not possible as believe it or not they do not make a template to drill the standard boot !!
It's what they call a replacment part and not an accessory.... well done Subaru lol
Simon

Must add i don't think you will have any luck fitting this wing to a classic as the boot is slightly profiled on the bug eye and the base of the wing sits into the profile..... as the classic is flat if i remember rightly this will not sit correctly.

Cord, it would have been a good idea but as Siver Scoob points out the rear boot is profiled different to that of the classic so it would nt fit probably.

Madgrip, my car is silver also, do you know if the bugeye 2001 silver is the same as the MY03 STi silver, if I end up needing to paint the new boot I may as well do the work on my original boot and remove all the holes.

I know the shape is slightly different but with the contact area between the feet and the bootlid being so small I wondered if it would be possible to modify it. Where are you getting it from? Also I have seen 2 styles of this spoiler, the wing portion being exactly the same but on one the feet being 2 long ovals, the other being 4 small round feet. I think one is s202 the other spec C. Just wondered if when you get yours it would be possible for me to have a look at it and see just how profiled the bottom of the feet are.

Haven't ordered it yet M8, I wanted to cost up a replacement WRX boot lid first with paint or find a new age silver secondhand one up against modifying & repairing my original one.

I think you will find its the same silver...... why not look at the paint codes under the bonnet that should give you a clue.
Is this the chap ?

You should have a look around on here for "Edcase" he has just fitted one to his bugeye

Silver Scoob, thats the one, looks lovely doesnt it!

Mad Grip, apologies for not getting back to you, that e-mail address is my work one in London, hence no reply. If the paint codes are the same I think we could strike some sort of deal up. I would want to keep my STi badges.....LOL

I'll check my paint code under the bonnet and let you know shortly.

Cheers

Conrad

Mad Grip my paint code is 01G as previously thought. Can you check yours and come back to me. I also need to find out what the Big STi spoilers sell for so we can work out a deal.

hi mate..
I checked my paint code again and it is definatly 01G which is the same as yours.. if we did the swap then obviously you'd keep your sti badges.. no good to me on a WRX anyway.. I've found a spoiler similar to what I think yours is here high spoiler
which works out at about £240 inc delivery.

I'm sure we can sort something out .. ,maybe even this weekend if you dont mind the standard WRX spoiler on your car till your new one arrives

e-mail as per profile and i'll get in touch about meeting up to check boot lid colours and stuff..

[Edited to get the clicky eventually]
