I have a couple of questions regarding my w reg Turbo 2000 impreza.
1. Is it worth while using a knocklink if the car is not modified?
2. If I change the stock air filter to a green panel will this affect the ECU? Is it worth while changing it?

Not realy benificial getting a knocklink for standard car but lets face it couldnt do any harm and would be good piece of mind.
As for pannel filter, no the ECU would not need replacing but keep the MAF in mind. I'm sure someone else can elaborate.

1)Knocklink good idea in general (even on standard cars) as advised often on here by John Banks.
2)The fact that you have a sensitive MAF in your year of car a dry (not oil permeated) filter is your safest bet. Go for green cotton or stick with standard filtration as standard is sufficient unless you catch the modding bug

Sometimes you may go into a petrol station to fill up with juice and you may get a bad batch. A bad batch of fuel can cause detonation. A Knocklink will let you know if there is det. So IMHO a Knocklink is essential on stock turbo cars.
