ive just looked at my chassis number on the plate under the bonnet
and looked on the sidc sight to check it and cant work it out.
my cars a 98 type R ver4.the num is GC8071240.Is this right or has someone made up a plate and bolted it on.Its bugging me i might have bought a doggy scooby. please help.

 

That sounds like your VIN number, JDM have less numbers in their chassis numbers. You should also see the model number which should read GC8E2DD as well as trim cldes and colour codes, engine type etc

JDM stand for ? There's nothing about E2DD?

 

Bizarre there should be a model number there mine reads GC8F2DD
JDM=Japanese Domestic Market, cars that are usually not available unless imported eg Type R's

Chassis number probably looks ok mate.
The model code should also be there on the plate.

A M8 of mine imports jap spec Subaru cars and he reckons that your Vin number is a white 2 door JDM WRX RA Sti manufactured in June 1998.
Any help .
