I had an afterburner on a MY00 UK and centre decat. I found it all to irritating and it felt breathless (although I know that was in my mind)
The car has done 40k and has a K & N panel filter.
I fitted another Haywood and Scott exhaust (which is for sale BTW!) and then fitted a prodrive BB.
The rationale is that I don't want the full rally sound and I figure a full decat after the next MOT will give mucher greater gains.
What do people think am I deluded? MIne you it isn't expensive or difficult to change your BB month by month if you want to have a change.

Is this car fitted with the Performance pack?
You have said about the ecu and the exhaust, check under the bonnet and see if there is some blue intercooler piping under there (will have Prodrive written on it).
The PPP as its known (Prodrive Performance Pack) will push the power up from 215bhp to 237bhp (unleaded fuel, this is not recommended though as the ecu is designed to run super unleaded).
If you run super unleaded/optimax you will see further gains (most push out around the 250bhp mark with sul).

Don't forget guys that there are two Prodrive back boxes available for an MY99. The oval one can be bought separately (£350 inc VAT when I got mine), but the round one can only be bought with the PPP.
I didn't notice any performance gain, but the exhaust note is sublime, without being raucous.

Thought I'd join this thread cos I want to decat my pipe but I'm not sure what route to take.
On MY99 I've got the round Prodrive BB (BTW the rest of the car is totally standard at the mo) and I'd like the level of sound to stay the same or as close as possible after decatting.
Is it possible to keep this BB and fit a decat down pipe and mid-section to it? Is the performance gains gonna be ok?
Or should I look at a complete system?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
