Hi Everybody.

Car: 1997 Impreza Wagon turbo (UK)

Before I bought the car it had all disks and pads chaged, so I was a little tolerant of the odd brake squeek while they bedded in, anyway front right brake still squeeks under braking but oddly it also squeeks whilst not applying brakes and only at certain wheel angles. For example right hand corner = squeek, left hand corner = no squeek. I have now done about 2000miles since buying the car and have inspected the pads/ callipers etc but cannot see anything unusual.

Any suggestions? (other than don't brake and avoid right hand bends)

Thanks for your help.
Cheers

Brett

Yep they are a pain in the butt, the only way I go my car to stop was to get slotted rotors so the little stones that get caught get spat out

Cheers Submannz.

No stones or anything, I think this set of pads is just sub-standard. When they go this will definately be on my upgrade list (which is getting longer by the day) or maybe just go the whole way and get the AP racing brake kit.

I had this and it drove me nuts! I tool the pads out to find that one had the friction material starting to come away from the backing - changed the pads - the noise went.

Thanks Justin.

I'll investigate the pads further. Hopefully all that is needed is a new set of pads like with your situation.

I had the same problem with my McRae's 2 pots. take the sliders apart clean them regrease with copperslip and rebuild, also put copperslip behind the pads where the piston meets the pad (both sides of the antisqueel shim) this worked for mine anyway. Hope this helps.
Cheers
