Unhappy

Have just returned from a wasted day at Power Engineering were I was getting a K&N Induction kit fitted.

It was all fitted fine but when it went on the RR the car would only generate about 0.8 Boost. It was all a bit worrying at first until the guys, (Very knowledgeable), realised that the PPP has a code in the programme which senses the intake air temp and if it is over 40 degrees C, reduces the boost to protect the engine.

I am now left with my old usnit back on and waiting for a cold air induction kit from USA to be delivered, (the one with the filter inside the inner wing).

This was the first time Power Eng had done a PPP so all beware as it was a fluke that the car was on the RR in a 36 degree afternoon heat that it was noticed.

Does the standard ECU have this programmed? - I would have thought so.
Look at it this way - you probably would have got a relatively low output today anyway in this temperature even if the boost was normal! I assume you had the intercooler spray going flat out?

Apparently it is only on the PPP as a safety measure to protect the engine under higher boost when hot. The heat would have reduced it also I expect.
