hi all, iv got a series mcrea. i thinks its porly!!it all started when i fitted an induction kit, it ran fine for a few weeks but slowly started to splutter and hesitate got worse and worse until it was undrivable. took it to a main dealer, told me it was the induction kit, if i wanted to keep it on id need a re-map. so i took it off, problem sorted. or so i thought, a week passed with no probs at all untill this morning it hessitated in 1st and second gear for a while and felt lumpy when accelerating. i also now have a small back fire when i lift the throttle and as the revs drop it pops and splutters. there is also a smell of burnt sulpher but stronger than ud expect. when im doing around 80mph i put my foot down in 5th gear id judders and wont pick up.
the car has a scoobysport down pipe and back box and dump valve.but as far as i can tell a standerd centre section, which must house the cat??
please please help!!
thanks j.

Mabe the O2 sensor is broken causing the rattle.
Which is making the car run rich causing poor running.
Putting extra load on the cat causing the sulpher smell.

When cats fail, they normally break up. Giving the cat a kick could show this.(it will sound like it has a bag of coal in it).

Or pop into your lacal garage and have a Co% check done.

I've gone full decat on MY00 and the lamda sesnor's was put back in the replacement downpipe and she's running fine...

got AFR and Knocklink gauges and they're doing the same as they were before decat. No replacement air intake, just a Green panel filter.
