i have a 01 bug eye wrx witch i was told was imported from japan
i was told it was 280 bhp but now im told you cant get a wrx bug eye jap import only sti. my car has sti front strut brace sti suspention sti exsaust but no red cracle on pipes under bonet can any one help thanks p

check to see what brakes,(will be brembo on a STI),should have STI written on the bigger intercooler,rev counter will be in the middle,STI on the seats,oh and the obvious a STI is 6 speed.hope this helps.

More likely to be around 218 bhp
With ppp 245
With decat system 265
And with ecutek 285


Unlikely you have a 280 bhp one there unless it is the STi model though that will show on the dash.....(plus loads more around the engine bay)

The Jap spec new age WRX is different to the UK model in that it has variable valve timing. The cars are quoted as being 246bhp as opposed to the 218bhp of the UK car.

If it was quoted as 280bhp, you have been mis-sold.
