Hi all, i was considering replacing the downpipe and centre section on my 99 turbo. I've been told that theres a cat in the downpipe and the centre section. So my question is if i change both will it pass the m.o.t emissions test?

I'd only really consider taking out the cat in the downpipe and not the centre section.

Is that possible. THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!

No it wont pass the emmisions test with both cats removed. I have the same car with just the centre cat removed. I believe with the more restrictive downpipe cat still in place the car should pass.

It is possible to just remove the cat in the downpipe but im not sure if it will pass the MOT with this set up.

With both cats off it will not pass mot, but there are places that will pass it without them on....but thats for you to find out as it is not something people like to talk about openly.

Yeah loads of people on here have fully decatted. I will be joining their ranks soon once it has passed its MOT! After then its like you say swapping round once a year or like mentioned above find a 'friendly MOT tester'!
