Pug 306 - Dodgy electrics ?
#1
Hi there peeps.
My beloved Pug 306 has a rather strange prob. The clock and temp display now intermittantly doesnt work. It will work some morning then not others. Sometimes if u have been driving for a while it will come on and stay on.
Even my feeble car repair logic would say that is obviously isn't the fuse. Could it be a dodgy earth or such (mind you having said that I haven't got any shocks off the car)
Any ideas ?

Get an auto electrician out to it.. if you think dodgy earths will give you a shock then you wont be fixing it yourself

I had a 306 xsi a few years back on an N plate. I had issues with the oil pressure not working and other electrical bits and bobs being funny - turned out to be a problem with the wiring loom, more specifically one of the male/female connectors that Pug use on their cars (might have changed on later models). This particular connector had cracked for whatever reason and water had got in, rusting various pins until it was a right mess. Dealer gave me their only option of replacing the whole wiring loom for about £800 - ended up do a bit of rewiring work with a mate to replace the connections as straicght through jobs. It took a few hours but saved a few bob.
Unfortunately, the 306 has a great chassis but pathetic electricals.
