Just changed my plugs, and I see the standard paper filter is well fecked.
Is it worth upgrading to a performance panel filter, just using standard again, or going for an induction kit (i'm talking performance wise).
Also, is it OK to leave filter out for a few days till I get another, or is that too much of a risk? (I think I know the answer to that, but thought i'd ask).

Hi Sulli
Under no circumstances should you drive your car with out a panel filter fitted.
The performance gains from a panel filter or an induction kit are very small and some people say there not worth the risk of damaging your maff sensor.
I believe your unable to fit a true induction kit to the scoob but the most popular and the safest is the K&N 57i. The most popular panel filters is the ITG panel filter. The problem with almost all filters is there lightly oiled to improve filtration with maximise air flow some people believe the oil can contaminate the maff sensor and cause failure which can result in engine damage.
I personally have the ITG filter and have had no problems with it.

Dont leave the filter out whatever you do...it aint worth it !!!!!
I used to run a K&N panel filter on my MY00 Prodrive, didn't really notice any difference, although a slight improvement in responsiveness and in sound. Also heard good things about the ITG panel filter

Thanks for the replies.
I am gonna get a paper filter from motor factors today - £6.99, and look into other options later. I have always had performance panel filters, and I think as long as you don't overdo it with the re-oiling, it shouldn't get any oil into AFM/MAF or whatever.
