I'm getting 'oil splats' over the leading edge of my bonnet and also the front bumper........
...Where the heck could they be coming from?
I first noticed it yesterday, after a good long thrash back from Belgium...no obvious leaks,or fluid loss anywhere. So i thought it must have come from some dirty, stinkin' diesel car that I'd followed....but.........
...I Gave the car a thorough wash and polish after work today, drove 15 miles home and the same oil splats were back!!!
Has anybody got any clues as to where they could be coming from?
Surely any leaks on my car can't defy the laws of physics, plus it was only serviced on Monday
TIA, Jon

Is there not a power steering oil cooler at the leading edge of the bonnet? Just a length of pipe bent in a U and running over the width of the car. Could this be leaking?
Alternatively it could be an oil filter or sump plug leak that is being submitted to turbulence and escaping from the front of your bonnet.

Thanks for the reply Beastie
....I've been under the car all morning, can't see anything wrong.
Gave it a good run up and down the M27 earlier....and nothing.
Could it be from the air-con unit?,didn't use it today, but it has been on full blast last couple of drives when i've noticed the 'splats'!!
...must admit, its got me slightly concerned

Fudpucker you wouldn't have oil coming from the aircon.
Though there are so many breather pipes, & possible areas that it could have come from it would be best to take it in to a specialist.
It may have been flung up from a bike using a scotoiler (my bike looks like its lost a litre of oil!!!). Or other road "crud"

This may be obvious, but it wasnt to me so here goes.
I noticed oils splats on the front bumper of my WRX 01, had me concerned until I realised it was from my second car a 306TD, she starts it up in the morning, and its parked in front of mine.
So my splats were from the Peugeot, took me ages to suss it out.
