erm, it will fit, but it wont work, although the engine will probably run.

Sti have different turbo's for a start

A normal Sti ECU is mapped for 100RON fuel, I suspect the Prova one takes this alittle further, so you will need max strength octane booster to stop your engine from failing.

Link ECUs crop up from time to time if you want to pay a little more for mapping etc.

97-98 options are more limited.

Although hang a minute, I have an idea....

I have emailed someone that may be able to help in some way. No promises, but it could be made to work.

If its a STi V4 JECS ECU fitted with a PROVA ROM board then there are a few issues with using it on a UK car, for starters:

1. Crank and Camshaft sensors are swapped around, different crankshaft position offset.
2. There is no immobiliser cicuitry in the JDM ECUs
3. As Paul pointed out, maps are different due to different turbo and injectors, rev limit etc.

And if it is a ROM board then you probably won't be able to just swap it over either because of the differences between the JDM and non-JDM ECUs relating to the immobiliser.

It may be worth a look though.

Cheers for the help.

I might be interested in taking a look at it - who offered it to you?

Email me if you prefer.
