Tools for checking wire/pipe diameters and bore?

I'm looking for a cheap hand-held tool for measuring outside diameters of pipes, wires, hoses, etc. Basically something that has pre-drilled holes in 1mm or 0.5 mm gradients from say 0.5mm up to 10mm or so.
I'm also looking for something that can measure the internal diameter of hoses or pipes. Something similar to a spark plug gapping tool; just a range of metal pins in sizes ranging from 1mm up to 10mm.
I know you can get calipers, but I just needs something cheap and accurate to 0.5-1mm.
Are such things available?

The first one sounds like a drill bit gauge would do.
(Simply a thin flat plate with a range of labeled holes drilled in it!) No idea where to get one, except in those sets of drill bits that you see in B&Q. Not the most cost effective way of getting what you want!!
Other than calipers, I don't know about the second thing.

Thanks. There's a local tool supplier that sold me some tap 'n dye's, so I'm hoping they'll have what I need.
Suppose I could always use some drill bits to determine the bore size

well the thing for checkin the outside diameter is a plastic drill gauge and for checking bores, you can get a hole guage. Unfortunately, the hole gauges they are were tiny (0.5mm - 1.5mm), so I'm still on the lookout. At least I know what to ask for now.
