I'm Thinking it might be cheaper & safer to get the to drain the tank & just put some Optimax in....

By the way Silkolene say there is no benifit at running Higher than 3% so 1 & half tins is maxed out...

Question

Has anyone used this? as I cant find any millers...

A new engine is going in my Import WRX today but the tanks full of 95 unleaded (hence the meltdown)

I've been told different ammounts by three different people at Silkolene...
1st guy say 50ml per tank
2nd guy said 1.5l would equal 3% of a tank
3rd guy said 0.5l would equal 1% of a tank

But no-one could give actual amount octane would rise... ... just that it is reccomended for import Impreza's

I need to get it right so I dont damage the new engine

I run 1 tin per tank but you can use half of that and still be safe

I used 1 tin per tank when on a track day (Tek2 MY00, full decat). Ran very well indeed! In the second half of the track day I could only get NUL fuel, so used 1.5 tins in the tankful.

So 1/2 a tin is 500ml - is that safe for a tank full of normal un leaded - just till I can re-fill with optimax????

AS you have both given different answers??
BUT the same as silkolene

WANTED - Say's 1/2 tin Which is 500ml which = 1% of fuel

Fatman - Say's 1 & 1/2 tins = 1.5litre which = 3% of fuel

I use about half a tin to 20 quids worth of optimax, Car is UK & running 282 Bhp gets driven hard most days & touch wood is still pulling strong after 1000's of miles.

My usage was to allow for very harsh track day conditions, albeit with a more-tolerant engine (i.e. UK vs. import). I understand that a 1% dilution gives an improvement equivalent to fuel of +1 RON. Therefore you would need something like 4% to 5% dilution in order to bring your car (full of 95 RON fuel) up to something close to 100 RON, which is what your car is probably mapped to run with.

My suggestion would be to use two full cans (2 litres) to get you through this tank-full, and then go to Optimax/SUL. Then again, I'm not an expert in the field. Perhaps call Scoobysport and ask them, they're a helpful bunch - plus they sell the stuff.

I get mine from TSL as it's only 5mins up the road from me and they said for me to use one tin per tankfull on my uk car to get good results, when i asked if i could put any more in thy said no more than 1 and a half cans.
I don't know if that is because mine is a uk car or not.
Hope that helps.

officially in metric:
1% = 10 ml/litre
1.5 = 15
2 = 20
2.5 = 25
3 = 30

Unofficially for road use I use half a can per tank
And race track a full can per tank
