could one of the more experienced guys explain to me what exactly is det cans,and how can someone use it to calibrate their knocklink?

det cans i've seen used are sort of stethoscope style devices using larger enclosed ear pieces (like big headphones), also on the end that picks up the sound the tube from the headphones is fixed to a flat piece of metal with a hole in it. The metal part can then be temporarily bolted to part of the engine thus enabling the user to pick up any audible det from the engine.

I've got some parts together to make an electronic one thats powered via cigarette lighter and has volume control..only need headphones.
