Question

Hi all, I was wondering if it would be technically possible or even worthwhile fitting a fan similar to an electric radiator fan under the I/C to suck air through when the car is stationary or at low speeds? I was thinking it would be temp controlled to operate only when needed. Would this work, would it reduce flow too much or is it wishful thinking?

I did a little investigation into this, a few problems were brought up
- space under the IC to fit a decent sized fan.
- where would the air actually go? Sure, downwards, but where to then - ideally need to make a duct for it.

If you go ahead with it I'd like to see the results!

A friend of mine did this on his turbo Mini, it didn't make any difference that you could feel at-all, but we never actually tested the intake temps, so it might have been working, we just couldn't tell!

Wouldn't expect to see any difference while in motion - just help prevent heat soak.
