Dump Valve Fitting

Can any one help a mate of mine has a 97/98 wrx import and he has bought a bailey dump valve can anybody give me any info on how to
fit this as it is the on the left side of engine bay instructions
say it fits on right hand side

On my mates 97 he has fitted the DV directly to the end of the elbow that comes out of the intercooler.
That does mean having to block off the recirculating part of the circuit though. Most DV suppliers can alos supply a blacking plug for this.
