Unhappy

97 uk turbo tickover has risern to around 1200 rpm, and when you switch ignition off i can hear a fluttering noise for a few seconds. The next day it may be back to normal,it has been like this for months!!!!!! Anybody any ideas????

Next time it happens try just touching the throttle gently and see if it returns to normal. Sounds like the throttle position sensor. Have you had the check engine light come on when this happens?

I'd agree with the TPS needing adjusting, the easiest way to test this is to go down a hill with foot off the pedals and if the car speeds up and slows down the hill then it needs adjusting

No the engine check light has never come on.
