have just removed a hks spf induction kit from my 94 wrx because of it mucking up the mixture and was going to sell it for 100.00,but a friend of mine has offered me his 3 month old blitz dump valve off the same year car but a uk version.
my question is is this a good deal/are the blitz d/v any good and are there any bad things the d/v can do to the cars running like the induction kit did?

 

I think you'll find unless the car is mapped to take a d/v it'll mess around a bit.

I tried a vta d/v on my 94 wrx and when you put your foot on the clutch (coming to junction etc) it stalled.

Then again you can prob adjust the Blitz to be shut at idle??

But my advice would be do the swap!. You can't lose, if it doesn't work you'd be able to sell it for more than you would your air filter

 

yes you were dead right when pulling up to a junction it stalled only once though,adjusted the screw on the end to release the pressure and it seams to ahve sorted its self out but will have another little adjustment tommorow to get it spot on.

 

A proper VTA dumpvalve will not cause your car to stall.

The only time this happens is if you use a cheap and nasty one or if the spring tension is incorrect in a good one.

Wind the adjuster screw in and increase the spring tension. The dumpvalve should not be open at idle, if it is, the car will stall and you'll only be getting a fraction of the boost you should as it's all leaking out. You might as well have a hole in your intercooler.

Just guesswork most of the time, but make sure the screw is more wound in than wound out.

Mine is wound in pretty much as far as it will go, but I'm running high boost.

If you can hear it venting as you hit boost, then it needs winding in more.
