o.k guys I am getting an intermittent problem currently with my93 WRX. Basically at times it decides it won't accelerate / boost. Its weird cos I can almost feel that the car is holding back quite a bit before i put my foot down. As soon as I do the boost gauge shows i.e 12 psi (max is 18psi) but the power is not there. The engine feels like its stalling. I have tried both methods - 1 being hold part throttle and till 3500-4000 rpm and then blat it and also blatting it at lower rpm but whilst the car accelerates there is no breath taking acceleration like I would normally get. When I hit 5k rpm the car does sort of pick up but still not like I would expect. The car is running with a unichip and a dawes (correctly mapped) and i have recently changed plugs, coil packs etc etc. I have tried the fabled ecu reset but still to no avail. I don't know if this is in anyway linked but over the last week or so the car also doesn't start well. I turn the key and the car splutters for a few seconds before it either dies (i have to turn her over again) or the revs eventually rise and normal order is resumed. I have checked the ecu no codes - but wondered as to whether this could be the first sign of crank or cam sensor failure ?? Could this be at all linked? or am I looking at maybe an actuator or a gubbed turbo

Any ideas would be very welcome cos I don't know how much more hair I can pull out.
