Question

Does anyone know anything about the Air con systems in UK & Jap spec motors.

Quote "Guys, for your info I fitted the A/C from a jap spec Scooby to my UK spec car and found out that the internal rad (that fits in the heater box) was too large."

Are the boxes the same size is it just the radiator ????

Dunno abt the innards of either a/c system, but the Jap car has climate a/c whereas the UK car has manual a/c. Components may be different.

You may also find that the pipe diameter is different as well, I found out that a UK compressor, has different size fittings to a Jap import.

I think the reason maybe the UK system is fitted by the dealer, whereas the Jap system is factory fitted. They may have sourced components from European manufacturers rather than from Japan, as it may be cheaper for IM.

Question

The whole Jap air con system is going into a UK spec car. The pipes, box the lot.

Will the Jap air con box fit with the other internal heater system behind the dash in the UK motor.
