Just to widen the options a bit...

Get a knocklink anyway
Consider changing the restrictor for a very slightly larger one which will stop the overboost
Always run Optimax plus octane booster

These precautions would allow you to run it safely without mapping it.

Bob Rawle could certainly map your car with any of three of the ECU options you list plus others if you want more performance safely, but a remap is not strictly necessary.

I think he means £50 for a Dawes is a lot less than the full Link kit at about £1400...

HI all, just wanna pose the question of which chip or ECU upgrade you have or have experience of as I need to get my Sti chipped to compensate for the ECU backing off my boost when it over boosts. The reason it does this is that now its decated it spins up so fast that it hits 1.2 Bar plus and the standard ECU thinks Bloody 'ell and backs it off. I want it to spin to and hold 1.2. what are your thoughts / experiences with Unichip/GEMS/ECUTEK/Link?

Thanks

T.

Hi wrrjones
When you fit the Dawes Device, where you buy the hose without restrictor ?, I have the Dawes Device without hose.
I want to keep my OEM hoses without mods.

Wrrjones, sounds interesting, what do you mean by "cheap £50"?

Thanks to all for replying so far.
