I remember that there was a huge long thread on here a while back regarding the G Force dyno and its accuracy etc etc,

Well i thought I would share my experiences after visiting today.

The first impression you get upon arrival is that the whole setup is first class with a level of professionlism that you would only expect from a company that specialise in Porsche race cars!

The dyno cell is impressive to look at if thats important to you but if nothing else gives an accurate visual presentation of the serious equipment that lies beneath!

I recently had my car dyno'd on two other rolling roads and thought that this would also offer a good test bed to see how the results from G Force's compared. Primarily the run was to check that all things were OK on the car.

Anyway I have posted some prints below for those interested.
One in particular may be of specific interest as it compares a run in 3rd gear and one in 4th. I think it is commonly acknowleged that discrepencies in power outputs generally occur when runs are carried out in different gears, however the dyno at G Force recorded results to within .6hp, a tribute to the equipment in question.
I am not that technical and am sure Chris can explain if necessary but its something to do with the dyno not relying on drag on the transmission to calculate losses.

The results achieved today at G Force were

246.1bhp @ wheels
307.9bhp @ flywheel
300lbft

My results on Owen Developments new 4wd Dyno cell were

237bhp @ wheels
299bhp @ flywheel
292lbft

My results at the Powerstation were

235bhp @ wheels
302bhp @ flywheel
277lbft

I had a good long chat with Chris today regarding tuning and scoobs in general and he has some great ideas. He is genuinely an enthusiast.
I highly recommend anyone visiting.

Another point is that they keep re-running until they get two consecutive results within 1bhp of each other, only then do they consider that the representative output has been recorded. They also give you the PAW which is the proper way to do it. It's £50 but quality and cheapness arn't bedfellows.
