I have an AE800....why is it people want them ? Why are they better than other standard ECU's ?

 

The people who want them are those who have MY99/00 cars with the AE802 ECU. This has different (emissions friendly) mapping which makes the engine 'hesitate' when driven at 2500 to 3000 revs, usually worse with a cold engine. 802 equipped cars also produce less power than 800 or 801's. I fitted an 800 to mine and noticed quite a difference.
If you sell it you should get around £100-125.

Not so fast Scott , for an upgrade would I be better off replacing the whole ecu...or getting a remap on the existing one e.g. ECUTEK ????
