I am after a quick shift and induction kit for my Legacy Turbo. Any ideas? I have been told that the Blitz Induction kit is very good even better than the HKS? It uses a very fine stainless steel mesh apparently giving lots of air flow.

What about quick shifts I'm looking for quality. The Legacy gear shift is really rubbery and not very positive.

Any help will be appreciated

The Jap Innovations quickshift is really short. However,it doesn't really fit that well cos it rubs against the rubber gaitor which seals the shifter from underneath the car and will eventually wear through it. I've got 2 Legacies - one came with a prodrive quickshift specifically for the Legacy and the other I fitted myself to replace the Jap innovations. I used a Prodrive quickshift for an Impreza. It fits but the fork at the selector end is different - Legacy should have a bush connection where the Impreza has a fork. I simply used a through bolt to join them and thought this might give a strange feel but it works a treat. The Impreza shift neutral pos sits further back - ie. gearstick will be closer to you than the Legacy item but I find this suits me just fine. While the Prodrive shift is deinitely not as short as the Jap innovations I find that it has a much better feel - might be because it's new still. The quickshift is a bit fiddly to install cos the exhaust is in the way but with a bendy wrist is ok. I was with my mate when we fitted the Prodrive shift and got under his car as well to find that his MRT exhaust runs a slightly straighter route which makes fitting much easier. He's got a Jap Innovations shifter and swears by it. If you're in London then come over some time and I can try dig out the old Jap Innovations if you want it.

Induction kits - I've tried an HKS green magic mushroom and also tried to make my own using a standard oiled cotton cone. Conclusion - probaly best to get K&N. They come with the bit of pipe which replaces the little air resonator after the MAF. Having an induction kit makes changing sparks much easier cos you don't have to mess around trying to remove the air box.

[edited to sort some of my dodgy spelling!]

Just lift up the surround and then adjust. 5 minutes tops.

To adjust the length of the change all you need is an allan key (is that how you spell it?).

Also comes with a replacement top plate for the MY01+, as the original top plate on the gearbox restricts the movement.

Who is Jamie? How can I get in touch with him? What about B&M quickshift which is the best? I've been sent an e-mail by a nice bloke who said that I can get a B&M off him from his tuning company for £160.

Wouldn't think it would matter, as it doen't really alter the performance or appearance.
Not an insurance expert though

Best quickshift is without a doubt the one from JW Racing. Solid machined aluminium, and fully adjustable. Probably cheaper too

edited to add that the weld broke on the b&m i had on the last car. the dealer replaced it but was never confident about it after that

Question

out of interest how easy is it 2 adjust the JW un then does it require the surround etc being removed 2 get 2 relevant bits etc or just a suitable tool in ajust length & bish bosh away
