Cool

The facelift was on the MY97 onwards (also a change in turbo for the turbo model cars) so the 96 will look a little dated next to a 97....

There were 2 facelifts - the first in 97 where (external) they changed the bonnet, rear bumper & front grill. Then a little later they changed the Bumper (front) & front lights.

RE:RoShamBo's post.
The later facelift with the front bumper, grill and dash was in Sept 98

Tony you may find the seats were much improved in the 97 cars(They were in the turbos so I asume the sports got the same)

Also the engine is different. MY97 and earlier cars had the 115 bhp phase 1 engine. When the later 09/1998 cars came out they have 125 bhp phase 2 engine. Also the seats aren't that good in 97 cars. That's what I have and they are similar to the early turbo ones. ie: crap.

www.iwoc.co.uk is a great site for this type of into - Think there is a "time-line" of model development on there.
