Question

Can any 1 help, i am only geting 10mpg i have been told
this could be a problem caused by a crack in the intercooler,
are there any other things i should check that would cause this?

Sorry to say this, but there's quite a few things that can cause low mpg. I've not heard of an intercooler itself failing, but then I have only been a Scoob owner for about a year. It's not that difficult to remove the intercooler and examine all the pipes that go to it for leaks/cracks etc.

Other possibilities include the lambda sensor in the exhaust failing, causing the car to run rich and the MAF sensor in the airbox failing.

It's difficult to give long range solutions, so check everything carefully.!!
