Just had a CEL light with code 45...

I'm pretty sure it's the pressure exchange solenoid, and not the pressure sensor, as I can't get air to pass through the solenoid at all. I thought that the idea was to allow a path to the sensor from the outside air or from the manifold, depending on the voltage applied to the solenoid.

Can anyone confirm?

I'm going to try to clean this one up and see what I can make it do...

TIA

Thanks - the solenoid was gunged up totally, so it was a complete disassemble job! Took ages to find the escaped spring...

You mean this bit...

It's the brown one on the top. It can take a fair amount of cleaner sometimes - I don't suggest doing it the way I did

There's the green test connectors under the dash (See Chris Palmer's website) for making the solenoids click & the fans work to help you...

Cool......er.....

Have an MY94 Legacy Turbo....can't find the green connectors...just the black ones?

WHAT does this solenoid DO? Why would you need to "ventilate" the MAP sensor to atmosphere? Is it to calibrate it?

I assume the Leggy must have the green plugs too..

check where the back ones are there should be a yellow select monitor plug there too.. they are often taped back with blue tape on the impreza.

I have no idea about the map sensor..

Question

Hmm....ok.
Confusing.

Still cannot find the green wires. Suspect they don't exist. (Different ECU).
