help - ive just brought a subaru 1997, but it has a 99 engine and ecu, the problem i have is on full throttle in high gears the boost drops off and then boost again and then drops off etc....
i have tried to clean the boost solenoid and the map sensor pipes if i change the pipe with the brass restrictor in for a unrestricted pipe it doesnt do it but runs flat.

please help

Do you have a boost gauge fitted? What does it read?

boost gauge reads 10psi max, my first thought was that it was over boosting, guess not!
