..all I get is the engine check light on permanently and the fans run for a couple of seconds, then stop, then some clicking happens, it keeps doing this over.

Is this normal?

Did you go to the web page I told you for the proper process for checking the error codes?

If you connect the green ones, that will cycle through testing all the sensors and functions, hence the fans going off and on.

You only need to connect the BLACK ones to read the current stored error codes, and when you're finished you need to disconnect them.
