I'm a bit new to working on my Scooby so please bear with the muppet questions!!.....

I cleaned the boost solenoid and pipes on my MY98 yesterday but noticed I have something attached to it which looks like its been added non-standard.

Its attached to the boost solenoid with a cable tie :-) and is a small black object with a shiney gold cone shaped piece of metal on it and an insulated pipe running to the boost solenoid pipes. It also has a screw in the top which looks like its bleedable.

Is this standard - what is it???

Thanks.

A photo would help, but as a wild guess I would say that it could be a Dawes device. (manual boost controller)

Or a bleed valve - what boost are you running? Be aware you maybe have a fuel-cut defender (or remover!) installed too....
