Question

OK, is it possible to fit a Dawes to a My94 WRX Wagon? If so then what would need connecting where (does it make a difference that I have a 3 port soleniod?) and how does one actaully set the thing up?

Any pictures of install?

How much and where can I get one (JWR I think is the only place in the UK)

Dawes with 94 WRX no problem.

You can find details of fitting here.

JW Racing are the only distributors in the UK so give Jamie a call.

Hope this helps,
Simon

Haven't you just had the ECU done?
Do you need a Dawes?

Iain.

Yes he has, but it didn't cure his fuel-cut problem....just moved it a bit.

Markus,

The only place you would need a Dawes is tee'd off the map sensor signal so that at idle the Dawes is closed and the ECU thinks all is OK. When you start to generate boost the Dawes will open and bleed air away (set the valave about halfway). That way reducing the value seen by the ECU and hence stopping your premature fuel-cut.

Or Insert the Dawes between the Actuator and the Turbo outlet nipple. Set the Dawes to hit about 15psi (with my map in the ECU). If this stops fuel-cutting then the Boost control solenoid is at fault, as in this configuration is is not in circuit.

I have a spare MBC (my version of a Dawes) which we can use. Well it's just a grainger air-valve with a nipple attached to each end. But hey that's all a Dawes is

Markus & Scott,

Try a simple plug-n-play FCD (darn cheap to build - well Scott knows) - should trick ECU to lift - but still retain a fuel cut - if you know what I mean. Certainly got over a similar problem I encountered.

Chris

PS - As a matter of interset - does an ECU swap for a later version ECU resolve the problem? If so then this is an option as not everyone wants to run over 15 psi - assuming of course - reading beween the lines - that this problem is what I think it is.

PPS - If my assumptions are incorrect then please disregard this whole message :0

Chris,

Fuel Cut problem was there before the remap, running standar Wagon low boost. I don't think an ECU swap will fix it unless the ECU itself has a fault.
