Question

Hi there,

I know subaru fit recirculating blow off valves as standard to the sti wrx Type R (the only scoob I have had close contact with) but do they fit them to other scoobs and if so what do subaru say the advantage is?

Any info apreciated

There are recirc dump valves on all turbo Imprezas (probably all road going turbo cars, I wait to be corrected!) to prolong the life of the turbo. If the valve wasn't there the turbo would stall instead of the gasses being vented and stopping a turbo instantly from the high speeds they run doesn't do a lot of good to it! The rally cars run without dump valves and their turbos don't last long at all!

I think the turbo life of the WRC cars may have more to do with the anti lag system they run rather than not having a dump valve.

Tony.
