Noticed a squeak coming from the rear of the car a little while back. My car is an MY01 UK WRX - my first thought was damper - as I've already had the nearside rear replaced and I wondered whether the offside had gone aswell. I'm sure I could see / feel a small amount of oil on the spring which suggested to me that the damper might be leaking.
It does seem to be intermitant and is more noticable at low speeds. It doesn't happen on every bump either. My other thought was a suspension bush going. Handling hasn't been affected nor has the ride quality.
Car has just had its 30K service - obviously I mentioned the fault, but nothing was found - they suspected two body panels rubbing. I have to say I'm at a loss to think which body panels.
The car will be going back in shortly for further investigation, but I wondered in the mean time if anyone else had experienced this and found out what was casuing it?
