Question

I'm about to order a Dawes, are Racetech boost gauges decent? They are loads cheaper than say the HKS ones. There are quite a few makes that are cheap at [url/]http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/catalogue/instruments.htm[/url]

Also whats AFR do you recomend?

Don't know much about RaceTech - but when fitting a Dawes or anything similar, anything is better than nothing!

As regards AFR - this is an Air/Fuel Ratio meter - i.e. measuring the mixture of air/fuel in the engine. Again VERY important to have something like this installed with a Dawes (or any other device that increases boost levels) as it will give you advance warning of a weak mixture etc.

I would suggest also having a look at this thread which has a lot of useful info on Dawes.

Cheers
Chris

Don't know about the Dawes. Seems to have good reviews, though.
LambdaLink is good.

Both are ugly! It seems the ones that look good are never as clear

Think my boost gauge is 'racetech'...

Paid around £30 for it, without holder.

For the money, its sound........... no problems, and more important its accurate ...brought mine into work and done an accurate calibration on it, and it was only a nats whisker out ...good enough i think..!

i've got a Racetech boost gauge and also an oil pressure gauge fitted to my WRX. Both are very accurate cos I got a friend to check the readings from the electrical system.
