Hey guys,

What's the best brake set-up for performance without the need to clean the bl**dy things every five mins!?

Your best bet is to get hold of some good wheel cleaning stuff (such as Zymol). The better brands usually have a spray you put on the wheel after cleaning that acts like a kind of 'wax'.

This makes cleaning the brake dust off really easy for quite a while (you can almost rinse it off). Then every few months you just repeat the process.

change the pads. ferodo ds2500 seem to be the flavour of the moment and virtually no dust at all. I had mintex on before the ferodos and the difference (performance, as well as lack of dust) is superb.

hope this helps,
simon

Thumbs down

Don't get Pagid pads cos they are very dusty. My wheels get black in only a couple of days.

Craig, if you're happy with your brakes performance, what about getting your wheels coloured? A nice anthracite and your dirty wheel problem goes away.
