Air filter problem
#1
Just fitted a K&N cone filter on my 93 WRX and having a few teething problems.
The turbo and the dump valve both are not going to well. I seem to have lost a lot of power. I think it is the APC pipe that fits in the base of the filter anyone else had this problem

sounds obvious i know, but check to see if any of the piperwork is kinked/ letting by (ie leaking). failing that, when i fitted my induction kit, i found that i had a lot of troubles with the small pipe that usually runs to the bottom of the airbox, ensure this is connected well and kink free. also, would recommend doing a full/ partial ecu reset as your ecu has to recalibrate the new air intake settings/ parameters. also, without realising it you may well have dislodgeed the pipe that branches from near the front of the intercooler and runs to the dump valve, if this is letting by then you will be loosing power. its also just possible that in messing about with your induction that you moved that enough for it be bleeding, or even the pipe inside which is only crappy plastic is broken. i know this cos i broke mine doing the same thing, genius that i am.
hope this helps. good luck.
